I started Create Magazine to turn inspiration into action—demystifying the creative process, spotlighting extraordinary creators, and revealing both its brilliance and fragility. From humble beginnings, it grew into a powerhouse for Adobe, delivering inspiration, tutorials, storytelling, downloadable assets, and playful content that encouraged creators of all levels to engage with Adobe’s tools. The magazine drew over 1 million monthly readers, praised for its unique perspective and unprecedented access into the creative process.
Initially self-funded, the project scaled into a multi-year endeavor that evolved from daily content streams (yes, we published every day) into an official part of Creative Cloud. Today, it lives on as Discover—a core destination for creativity within Adobe’s ecosystem.
Inspiration
We created hundreds of films that celebrated incredible people doing incredible things—alongside deeply human creative moments where failure was simply part of the process. From behind-the-scenes looks at major movies to day-in-the-life portraits of creators across geographies and disciplines, we told stories of historic icons, emerging talent, and the unique spaces that shape their work. The result was a substantial body of content that the community embraced for its freshness, authenticity, and unapologetically edgy, “fuck-it” attitude.
