The “Metrics, Not Myths” campaign set out to confront widespread skepticism about digital marketing head-on. At a time when many CEOs and business leaders dismissed marketing as “BS,” we aimed to prove its value with data. Spanning Adobe Marketing Cloud, social channels, and even a tongue-in-cheek collaboration with The Onion, the campaign busted myths and demonstrated how analytics could tie marketing directly to ROI and measurable business outcomes.
What made the campaign so effective was the mix of creativity and credibility. We used blog posts, videos, and the now-famous “BS Detector” ad to challenge old assumptions, while showcasing how Adobe’s Marketing Cloud could deliver hard evidence of impact. The results spoke for themselves: millions of video views, a surge in sales inquiries and site traffic, and a measurable lift in community engagement. For me, it was a defining example of how bold creative, paired with data, can completely reframe the perception of marketing.
